Have you contacted the developer? What is the upgrade strategy for those of us who already payed $9.99 for the ad-hoc install version? Have they fixed bugs from the earlier version?

Even if Apple changes its mind once again, could it not extend its reach to your iPhone and delete whatever software it sees fit to delete -- all on the pretext of security?
Does anyone know of a precedent whereby this ability has been abused by Apple? It's a fair question, for if Apple thinks it is within its rights to control which apps can be used for the iPhone and which cannot, then the only question that remains is whether to take before-the-fact or after-the-fact remedies (or both).
The iPhone is foremost a computing platform, and the iPhone owner should be within their rights to run the software of their choice.

quote:
"In any case, RSS Player lets you stream or download new podcasts directly to your iPhone without having to sync up with a computer first (which is also possible via the iPhone's iTunes Store app as of the 2.2 update). "
As you phrased this, it seems to me that "Apple likes competition!"
Once Apple put the non-iTunes sync to work, allow others to do the same.
Well, but you only wanted to trash Apple.

I've looked at the new and native ability of the latest Apple mDevices to download podcasts from the iTunes Store (iTunes U is notably missing).
Apple's Dashcode will create a web app just by supplying the RSS address. The problem there is that the web app has to be at the same address as the RSS feed.
How does this app differ from and improve upon these options? Are the podcasts played by the same code as those synched by iTunes or is it more like what Apple Mail uses to display attachments? If the latter, I've noticed some oddities such as chapter markers in video not showing up.
