What a waste! The iPhone, while still excellent at what it does well, still sucks! AT&T's 3G coverage combined with a phone that crashes far too often, is painful at best. Add to that the major lack of support of PC apps, the ridiculous insistence (and arrogance) of Apple to require you to go through iTunes for just about anything useful (and requiring an internet connection to do so), the major missing features like a decent Contacts manager (or ability to sync to an GOOD outside database), missing cut-copy-paste, an inconsistent user interface and overall "twitchy" behavior (lockups, resets, jumping to main menu, etc), make this a marginally useful device. I turned in my first iPhone because of this, only to take a new job and get handed a second generation that was almost as bad as the first.

Now they do a multi-megabyte update and don't fix any of the most prominent issues... I'm both disappointed and disgusted with Apple.

I have to agree. I'd really like to know what's going on. I've never had the phone itself crash. I have had some third-party apps crash though. I get really decent phone service and I use the 3G at work since it's faster than our DSL.

I am hoping for a horizontal keyboard option when typing SMS messages (or email for that matter). That way the keys will be larger and you'll be less prone to errors in typing.
