They may start in Garageband, but they end up in Pro Tools.

Jim where's the album? There has been almost no update since April last year.

Composing is the real strength of Garageband. The fact that you can take a concept through to CD quality is a bonus. That's why pro musicians like it.

Not if Ive's design team continues makes their work harder or if Apple doesn't update Logic because Steve is bored with that segment.

fibercut, the album is coming along. I've been doing periodic updates on the gear I'm using and the process. I did one earlier this week on micing amps and drums.

To be more accurate, the majority, if not MOST professional recordings are done with Apple "gear" (computers) at the least, whether running Garageband, Logic, Pro Tools, Nuendo... Apple is still king in the DAW recording business.

I agree with Benroethig. Apple has done a lot to piss off us professional musicians lately, one of their most loyal customer segments. I'm thinking specifically of Firewire's uncertain future and the lack of a truly portable Macbook with Firewire - stunning really, when you consider that Apple built support for Apogee's (their official partner!) FIREWIRE ONLY interfaces directly into Garageband and Logic!
