New Microsoft 'I'm a PC' ads still can't beat Apple's

Life without walls? They're exploiting homeless kids? Sheesh, could Microsoft really stoop so low? ;)
Apple used kids in the past. Remember the iMac ads where the kid would pull the iMac out of the box, plug it in, attach the keyboard and mouse and plug in the ethernet and bang, they're online; all the while the hapless adult with the PC is tangled in numerous cords, reading a manual to figure out the complex mess that PCs were back then? They were great.
Much more impressive than making (cute as they absolutely are) fish lips at the screen.
I'd adopt Kylie in a New York minute, but in my house, she'd be a Mac, and she'd love it. (And she'd have much better cameras to shoot with.) :D

The two commercials are cute. MS did a decent job doing these commercials.
I doubt however that they are persuasive to the computer buyers in a household, however.
Most adults and young persons have too much experiences with the frustrations of Windows and the reports regarding VISTA's poor performance (or perceived poor performance are legendary and wide-spread.
perhaps this will help MS with Windows 7 when it finally comes out.
However, recent history (and I believe the near future) will continue to favor Apple products as the Mac OS x operating system continuing to evolve and be updated (to Snow Leopard this year and beyond that), iPod family (iPhone, iTouch, and new stuff coming) grows and the MacBooks continue to innovate in style, size and substance.
MS's ads are perhaps 'too little, too late' and not enough but a quantum leap beyond the stupid Seinfeld/Gates ads of a year ago (and who isn't a big Seinfeld fan? I know I am but these ads???)

Honestly, I don't think the "so easy a child can use it" ads from Microsoft even warrant a response from Apple... As mentioned by leicaman, Apple has already done that line in their own ads before. I mean, it's almost sad to hear something like this coming out of Microsoft... it's as though they're screaming, "ME TOO! ME TOO! ME TOOOOOOOOOO!"
Apple leads, Microsoft follows. Again.

I'm in the "use of kids" is stupid camp. I don't find it the least bit cute when kids plug commercial products. To me, it's like when parents use their kids in religious or political arguments--it's loathsome. And I would say the same thing if Apple did it.

Let's turn up the crazy dial.
Microsoft is worried of users who can't even e-mail a jpg of their pet fish. So Redmond has been working for 4 and a half years and comes up with an elegant solution that customers will love.
Literally, Kylie IS A PC. She is an automaton that runs on the next generation Microsoft OS 10 (code-named "Winter Kitty"). OS 10 is backwards compatible with Vista - therefore, the seamless interface between Kylie and the Vista PC.
Nobody will know that you're an incompetent PC user with Kylie in your house.

but at least they are not sycophantic dribble like the mac ones.
"I'm a Mac, I used to have firewire?"
"I'm a Mac, you can't change my battery it lasts fore..."
"I'm a Mac, would you like to update to our latest Kernel Panic?"
No difference - all owned by Intel now.

First off, I think that the Kylie commercials are so sweet, they make my teeth hurt. I love this commercial.
It does one thing that Mac-heads have been telling Apple to do since 1984 and that is to actually show people operating the fantastic Mac Operating System. Show them how easy and cool it is to use the Mac.
Apple commercials show how to use the cool apps on the iPhone and iPod Touch all the time, but they just never wanted to show off the Mac OS, which has always been the major selling point of the Mac in the first place.
