You forgot to mention the free QuadAnimator app available from Fukatsu's site:

It's "lens SHUTTER" not "SHUDDER." Ugh. In fact, it's simply shutter, lenses don't make noise but shutters do.

Maybe it actually makes a shuddering sound when the four quick shots are taken.
I'm just sayin'...

... and in the last paragraph, it's "flair," not "flare." Jeff if you are truly an "...educator, podcaster, father, blogger, husband, photographer and general technology pundit," then you ought to be more familiar with the weaknesses of spell checkers.

That's right! Flare is a bad thing in a picture.

The typos -- which I should have caught -- have been corrected.

Wow - The most demanding readers ever.

Since when do the hazards of spell-checking (or lack thereof) have anything to do with who you are or what you do? Honest mistakes by honest people - what a refreshing show of humanity.

I think we all should just 'lighten' up a bit and e-mail the author directly with issues instead of publicly castigating him on the web.

Mr Michaels and Mr Phillips -- I regret that my comments may have been more "aggressive" than they should have been. No offense was intended.
@MacHero -- the author is a professional educator and journalist. More importantly, I doubt that anyone posts an article to MacWorld which has not been vetted and reviewed by one or more editors. My frustration is inappropriately placed, but still fundamentally valid --- not just those who may inadvertently confuse "flair" and "flare," but also those with no conception of the distinctions between "their," "they're," and "there," or the difference between "ensure" and "insure." I know I'm way off-topic on this rant, but there is a world of difference between the "i went 2 the mall and it wuz kewl" Junior High School blogger and pros like the MacWorld staff. MacWorld sets a higher standard, and must be held that standard.

I tried emailing Jeff directly several times before I resorted to commenting. Each time I was presented with an Internal Server Error. Common spelling errors and a malfunctioning email system doesn't exactly inspire respect for the content or it's creators.

A known issue on our end we're working hard to rectify.

@Sarahsda,

I am not condoning nor approving the proper usage of our English language by the author. I understand the level of frustration within your message, however placed.

I further agree that Macworld should have higher standards as we look to them as an online periodical and source of information. An editor should have caught this.

My point is this:

We seem to lose a bit of our 'civil' language when tucked away behind a technological barrier (a computer, a PDA, a car). Our inhibitions are lessened and we become less than what we should be.

Your initial reply to the author would have sufficed and would have produced a similar outcome without bestowing an air of condemnation or better, superiority on your part. It was your second sentence, that my reply was in response too.

Wow! I am glad to see that the community here at Macworld is alive and well, and that the bar continues to be set high. I would not have it any other way. And certainly, "flare" is not something we want to have problems with on our cameras, is it? My mistake. I guess this is what I get for trying to edit articles while my kids are playing Mario Cart in the same room!

If you are interested in seeing more images taken with QuadCamera, I have the samples I took up on Flickr, here:

There is also a larger group for iPhone "toy camera" users, here:

Have fun!
