Apple releases Battery Update 1.4 for all MacBook models

Right so "all MacBook models"... except mine because the serial number doesn't match up and it's not required in the Software Update app. I think the author should remove the "all" from the title as the article then goes on to say wait... not all! Just ones with certain serial numbers (a certain batch.)

The article's headline is misleading. It's not for all MacBook models; it is for the regular MacBook only (not for MacBook Air or Pro -- which would be implied by "all MacBook models"), and in fact only for these specific models:
MacBook (13-inch), MacBook (13-inch Mid 2007), MacBook (13-inch Late 2006), MacBook (13-inch Late 2007), MacBook (13-inch, Early 2008), MacBook (13-inch, Early 2009), MacBook (13-inch, Late 2008)
MacBook (13-inch), MacBook (13-inch Mid 2007), MacBook (13-inch Late 2006), MacBook (13-inch Late 2007), MacBook (13-inch, Early 2008), MacBook (13-inch, Early 2009), MacBook (13-inch, Late 2008)

Thanks for that. So half my post was correct: this is for the batteries of the consumer-oriented MacBook and not the computer itself. :-)

uchuugaka - You have it exactly right. There is a clear distinction in the naming of Mac Mini and Mac Pro. The analogous situation were if the Mini were just called Mac and Apple released an update for all Mac computers.
It's not that difficult to determine if your computer needs the update, there's just some ambiguity in the nomenclature.

Make sure you have latest OS update. If you don't, and the Software Update tries to do both that and the battery update at the same time, the update freezes. Do a restart, then deselect the battery update from the list of possible update, and do the OS update first.

So now I'm confused. Is that first comma meant to signify an AND or an OR? The Device name for my MacBook is indeed ASMB013, which is also in the serial number, but neither the Pack Lot Code (0001) nor the Firmware Version (0102) correspond to those mentioned. Am I being tripped up by English? I probably wouldn't worry so much about the battery if I knew how much time was implied by "extended," as in "when shut down and not used for an extended period of time." I do shut it down when I travel (whether it's with me or not) and I'm contemplating subjecting it to "non-use" for some time (days? - weeks? - months?) soon.
The battery update was not in the latest (today's) Software Update for my machine.
