* and I don't want to wait for some adapter to add to an overpriced digital player, as suggested by someone above.

You don't want to wait for it? You woke up this morning, said, "Oh man, time to order that Shuffle", saw the change and decided that you can't wait? Are you really shopping for a Shuffle right now? The market for sub-100 dollar flash based MP3 players is so vast that you have been shopping and shopping, and just when you decided on the Shuffle, they changed it? Come on man.

Love the new black anodized aluminum, but not for the shuffle, but for what the next generation MacBooks should have!!

I'm waiting for an iPod Shuffle small enough to stick in your ear. Who wants bulky earphones?

Exactly. To play or pause you hit yourself on the side of your head (hand over ear.) The in-ear shuffle detects the sound wave and changes a song. Quickly hit yourself twice to skip a song. Hit yourself 3 times quickly to go back a song.

To skip a playlist you take the earphone out and put it back in.

"All of the controls for the Shuffle are located on the earphone chord"
Uh, cord.

Including the 2 GB model Shuffle which Apple still sells. Isn't it great to have choices!

It certainly is. The fact that the main Apple Store page doesn't even have a direct link to them clearly indicates that we will be able to choose between the two models for years to come!

Click on the new Shuffle, and you'll see a link to the second generation Shuffle right there next to the words "Still Available."

Speaking of morons, who would be so out of it that they'd lose their earbuds at the gym... imagine blaming Apple ... MORON!

Yeah, that was a classic video. I remember laughing out loud when I first saw it. Heck, one day we'll probably see something that size.

Wow what a bunch of whiners!!!

But in this case, the complaints are justified. Moving the controls off the device and on to the ear buds is a ludicrous decision on Apple's part. For what ever reason those supplied ear buds never fit in my ear's correctly and when I'm at the gym, I prefer using a cheap set of headphones because of the sweat that I generate.

While I'm not going to complain too much because this is apple's bargain basement iPod, the design is quite unapple likewith its lack of elegance and ease of use.

Now I can't hook it up to my rca and mini plug cord in my car, like my 2nd gen. shuffle. Can't use my Sennheiser headphones in the house either. Don't like earbuds. Way to go Apple. Another BIG mistake.
