@bringer666, you might want to watch the video. At the end Scott shows a slide of additional features that says "Create meeting invitations," which suggests some level of address book integration.

Yes, I watched the video and that's why I'm hoping that there are a few more address book features that they have enhanced. I find it hard to believe that nobody else seems to think the wimpy calendar alerts are in any way useful. This is almost a deal breaker for me but I did not know about it before I purchased the iPhone.

Maybe if they get push notification actually working as planned, we can finally get something like Agendus that will give us a REAL calendar app.

Regarding the lack of support for bluetooth keyboards: seeing as Apple has given developers the ability to make their software talk through the dock port; maybe it's not improbable that a dock-connecting keyboard will be released. Of course, native support in applications like SMS and Mail is questionable, but at least there's Cut & Paste = )

Well,

Even with this 3.0 upgrade I don't think it will be better then the Palm-pre... And so far... the Palm pre Demo shows that it is a better phone in many important things that will make people like me and others to give up on the i-phone. Unless Apple comes out with a new phone that is better then the Palm-pre. Another things is if Apple allow flash player on the i-phone... it will make a big dent on the appl store... because anyone can make free games with flash... and now with the support of video and 3D...

Rest assured, Tom Tom will be first in line to sell thier program in the app store. Expect it to be about 1.5 MB's and it will have the complete US map. You can buy additional maps if you would like. Having used their program on a pocket PC, I can tell you it will make your iphone an excellent GPS device.

is it worth saying that a product that has not yet shipped versus one that has and has shown an upgrade path, with working examples of that, are two VERY different things?

Ditto on Agendus. I'm sticking with my Palm TX because of it and the big screen on the TX. Agendus just pulls all my agenda stuff together perfectly. I've scorned the Blackberry, but Agendus is now available for it. Now if either Blackberry or better in my Mac world--Apple--would just give me the ability to use a bluetooth keyboard, I'll be in heaven.

The ability to key in longer notes, essays, interview notes, presentation notes, etc. as fast as I can type (which is pretty fast!) is absolutely essential in today's world. Not all of us just want to send quick tiny text notes.

WAKE UP APPLE!!! I REALLY DO WANT AN IPHONE!!

I have to agree with sstevenson... a bluetooth keyboard would be perfect for the iPhone. You could have a keyboard that would let you free up the screen of your iPhone, letting you see more of the screen.

Any guesses what the first company to make one might be?

Double tap does zoom. He used tap and hold to select the text (that's also how he selected the note). Not sure why there are different gestures for the same action in different applications...

does anyone think Apple will also come out with a new physical iPhone as well as the software (like g1 to g2)?

I wonder if anyone thinks Apple won't.

Apple's iPhone sales jumped when the second generation came out. If they came out with a faster, less expensive iPhine, then more people would buy it.

Come on with the Flash talk already. The only reason you could possibly want flash is to watch porn on your iPhone. Otherwise it would be used for ads and mobile pop-ups which I do not want.

If you've just got to view porn in front of everybody or at work so that you can get fired, a buddy told me (yes, I looked to verify and was impressed) pornhub can be viewed on the iPhone now even without the flash.

So there you have it perves, all the vile content you can muster right there on your iPhone, but if I catch you on the subway with a chubby looking down at your cellphone I will beat the crap out of you! Besides, there's kids around and old ladies.

I do not want flash on an iPhone at all. ]:)

Actually I was thinking about guitar lessons. My site produces music lessons that use a Flash player for both video lessons and jam files. Unfortunately, at the moment the only way to make these available to iPhone users is to run a separate server strictly for Quicktime files and provide external links to them.
