So does anyone know if the new version will allow backup of text messages? For both PC and Mac?

"To-do syncing wasn’t mentioned at all, even though it seems to be a more-obvious omission, given that the iPhone already syncs with desktop programs that include to-do lists."
Actually, iPhone DOES NOT sync with either iCal or Outlook's To Do lists. It doesn't even have a native To Do list for that matter! Having to open-up a third-party app to view my To Do list and not being able to have that To Do list give me reminders is unacceptable. Glaring omission in my book. How can it even be considered a smart phone without such basic functionality?

The GPS on the iPhone is a little annoying...

Three main problems are:

-No voice navigation (does anyone know if this will be availible?)

-No turn-by-turn directions (I know this is being fixed, but it had to be said.)

-The annonyance of having to find where you are on a long road trip could be fixed with some sort of "follow" option; so that your location would remain fixed in the center of the screen.

Apple's statement that the original iPhone "does not have the circuitry to do MMS" is just a flat out lie. And Macworld or some other Mac news agency should push them on this issue.
SwirlyMMS (www.swirlyspace.com) is a native iPhone app (for Jailbroken phones including the original (2G) iPhone) that allows true MMS...sending and receiving MMS to and from any cell phone. While it seems to be true SMS and MMS use different "frequencies," the original iPhone IS capable of using the MMS frequency. The main problem is that AT&T's "iPhone data plan" only gives you access to the SMS frequency by default. If you switch to a non iPhone data plan that allows/uses both SMS and MMS frequencies and use an application (i.e. SwirlyMMS) that allows you to manually enter in the MMS server data for your specific carrier, you're good to go. The swirlyspace Web site has an in-depth explanation.

Everyone should get on Apple case's about implementing MMS on the original iPhone. Even if it's a limited version compared to the newer iPhones, a limited version would be better than no version at all. We KNOW it can be done. They shouldn't be so quick to leave their "legacy" customers blowing in the wind. Not cool Apple, not cool at all.

I'm just wating for phone that works!!! ... To me, it became worst then a pc formula... Too many crap insinde a litle space... and the most important things are missing. Looks is not everything on a phone... And if Apple does not comeout with a nice working phone... they soon will be behind phones like Palm-pre, and others. And I think they are going to make the sound quality of the Skype real bad... If Skype sound great... AT&T will have to make some money in some other way... And the only thing I see is that they will block the true potential a i-phone could have. Too late for the copy and past, push, etc, etc... that is old news... Now people want programming running, video cam in front for video calling, real GPS, reall still and moving picture recoder with good quality HD, Push to talk, typing what you say (learn your voice), etc, etc...
