Good job by Mozilla (certainly beats waiting until the 2nd Tuesday of the month), but I'm dubious about the behaviour of the hacker: shouldn't they have sent the proof-of-concept code to Mozilla engineers first, before publishing it on the web?

Security has always been great with Mozilla, in part because of this. They don't wait to release their patches. If there is a big problem, they fix it as fast as they can, even if that changes the order of their releases. MS (or even Apple) could learn from this.
Keep it up Mozilla!

Yes, thanks to Mozilla.
Is the Safari security problem exploited at the same contest fixed yet?

Firefox 3.0.8 has been crashing a lot on me since Friday night. A lot of people have been saying the same thing at Mozilla forum.

That's a good job for Mozilla, unfortunate the bug is still available in Camino 2.0b2 latest, and I'm sure it's in 1.6.6 versions for the browser.

I know but still I love the Camino integration into OS X, and the only consequence is a crash of a browser. You would have to go a site that has the problem so, it's ok. Even though it's a beta I still use Safari 3.2 as my primary online banking and other private stuff.
