Here are some main points of difference between the two.
ReceiptWallet/Paperless:
• Price $45 vs. $80 (sans scanner bundle)
• Use your existing scanner (Neat bundles an OEM scanner - YMMV)
• Security- password protect and encrypt your data
• First on the Mac market
• QIF export (Neat just added this tho)
• Handles line items with their own categories. (this is a big one for me)
• Nesting folders for organization
• Smart collections based on multiple criteria i.e. merchant and relative date
(Neat's are just single criteria saved finds or 2 criteria saved filter)
• iSight capture
• Burn backup CD/DVD's
• Built-in backup reminders
• Quicklook
• Better Drag and Drop support between libraries
• Better support for multiple libraries (through Droplets)
• Better auto-fill from previous receipt entry (learns)
Neat:
• Better image processing and OCR
• Business Card/ Contact support
• Badges for qty and total on Collection folders
