I have the x-mini. It's good for listening to podcast while in the shower. Since it sounds like a cheap transistor radio, I avoid listening to music with it.

I have the new Orbit pictured here. It comes with a tight-fitting zipper case that has a mini carabiner to clip it to stuff. I hang that from the ceiling in my basement, then plug in my iPhone which is now dangling from the cord. The headphone jack has plenty of friction to hold on to the iPhone (original and 3G). With my speaker hanging in the air and the iPhone under it at eye level, this fills my small studio space with music at 50% volume. I like it, and the batteries last for a lot of listening before I need to replace them (if I remember to turn the speaker off when I leave). Highly recommended for a small room or even outdoors and travel.

I have the new Orbit and really enjoy the powerful sound that comes out of it. I'm not an audiophile so all I really wanted was something portable that could be used in the garage while I run on the treadmill.
I was surprised by how large it was. The pictures somehow made it seem smaller and more portable. Also, the cord is a bit shorter than I'd like.
It seems like they could engineer the exact performance in a smaller enclosure.
