Installed fine but still getting 4 pages of broken permissions with Disk Utility. Most are concentrated in:
"System/Library/CoreServices/Front Row.app/Contents/PlugIns"
"System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iPhotoAccess.framework"
"Applications/iTunes.app/Contents"
"Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin"
Apple, what is the point of repairing permissions if they never get repaired?!!!!

I've lost iCal!!!!!
I open it up and it just hangs there with the window of iCal with the time bar set to right now, but no todo's, no calendar accounts, no events no nothing! I then have to force quit it too. Thankfully the mac didn't sync with MMe after the update!!!!! I've trashed the plist, restarted, repaired permissions etc etc..
GAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! f'in marvelous!!!!!!!
now what?

No changes to AppleWorks. Changes to the Spotlight importer that processes AppleWorks files.
Also the importer plugins for MS Office, iWork, applications, audio files, automator scripts, chat logs, generic image files, MIDI files, mail, PDFs, PostScript, system preferences plugins, iCal and iPhoto documents, and vCards.

Mail updated huh? Well, they sure missed one bug in Mail, one that's been plaguing some users (like me) for quite some time. When I search in Mail, selecting "Entire Message" and choosing one specific mailbox, the search results in nothing found. Search in all mailboxes works fine, however. Apple tech support has no clue on how to fix this so I was hoping the update would do it. No joy.

I got exactly the same thing, and ran repair about six times with no change. I finally looked it up, it's not a permissions problem - if you look at the permissions strings you will see it says something like "should be -rw-r--r-- but is lrw-r--r--" all this means is they changed the file into a symbolic link and Disk Utility is panicking over nothing.
So those aren't errors, and can be safely ignored. It is a serious Disk Utility issue though, IMO. Apple should NOT be training their users to ignore error messages.

I've updated a Core Duo MacBook Pro and a Core Duo MacMini without a problem. A G5 is waiting to be updated. Perhaps people with a problem can post their Mac model, the 10.5 version they are updating from and system modifiers they might have loaded prior to updating.

I had the same experience [as Skiaddict] on my Macbook Pro with this update. I was almost ready to boot it off of my external drive to troubleshoot but in the end - a long journey to that end - it worked.
Actually, this is the first in a long time that I've updated with the stand-alone updater (instead of the combo). I just used the combo on my new iMac at work and it had no issues. I would suggest to people to always use the Combo updaters instead of the smaller incremental update. This advice has been given by many over the years with the Mac OS updates.
