If you have problems with a particular piece of software, as you have, it is probably the fact that your Quicken, in this instance, has not been updated to work with the new version of the OS. Visit the Quicken update page before doing anything drastic:)
Digging into Apple's OS X 10.5.7 update

That's the universal issue everybody experiences at one time or another: "reverse compatibility". Too many applications are suddenly not working with a system upgrade and it's inevitable that something will freeze, crash, start doing strange things or fail to open altogether after an "upgrade". It was "Leopard" (10.5.0) that was crashing, freezing, losing data when told to "Save" that made me furious I actually paid for it. I forget which "point upgrade" for it stabilized the whole OS but I was cussing out "10.5" on a daily basis until what I believe was 10.5.4 which did pull out the critical bugs. Suddenly I wasn't getting "The application "???" has unexpectedly quit. Would you like to..... etc."

You are right, I went to the Quicken site and they are coming out with a new version. I will wait for now. Thanks!

I updated my 10.5.6 on 2 Macs with 10.5.7 - a MacBook 2GHz Core 2 Duo and a Mini Core Duo 1.83GHz, both from late 2006.
No problems with the download and after 2 reboots on the MacBook (it does everytime I upgrade 10.5) and 1 reboot on the Mini everything was working fine as before. My Mini is connected to a Sony Bravia FullHD TV via DVI->HDMI cable and nothing happened - it all worked just fine. Nothing special to report from this update.

The update gave me troubles and many others with USB enabled sound equipment. Mine was a Logitech 960 USB headset.

729MB!! I have lots of memory on my MacBook Pro, but I don't have the super high speed in my rural community. Satellite is faster than dial up, but it is seriously lacking. I upgrade only the programs and devices I use. And I don't use all the gadgets Apple is promoting. As for updating Epson or any printer, I wish Apple would leave the printers alone. My Epson became obsolete due to an upgrade a couple of years ago. It will print, but won't scan with the upgrade. So let's hear it for user choices rather than upgrading blindfolded. Needless to say, I won't be upgrading.
