Too bad the resolution isn't all that great. Also, if you click on the NEC site you can see other pics from different angles. It's actually very deep.

So it's like two 21" monitors for $8,000? Maybe I'll just buy two 21" monitors for like $2,000 and take the rest of the money to Disney World.

21" monitors are like $150-$250 on Dell's website. They are not $1000 a piece, unless you HAVE to go with Apple displays.

Actually I was going by the prices on the NEC site, just to make it fair. I'm not surprised you can get them cheaper elsewhere.

I'd love something like this for gaming (presuming I had 8 grand burning a hole in my pocket).
I can't imagine a whole lot of other content for it.
but it would be cool
I imagine this isn't the last one we'll see like this.

I can see this as relevant if you're going to be watching some old John Holmes porn on your computer...but other than that, it's avarice.

900 vertical resolution? If I had a spare $8K it would be a MBP 17" and a Samsung 2560x1600 monitor, and then I'd get a Segway.

Heh. I was agog at the scope of this thing until I saw its resolution. It's 2009. Can we please do better than 900 vertical pixels, please? I'm tired of widescreen monitors. Give me height. I like my 1680x1080 display but I'd kill for a 2560x2048 display. And it seems like every new laptop I've seen in Windowsland is running at HD resolutions - which are LOWER than regular laptop resolutions. I hope Apple doesn't succumb to the temptation to do this, to charge more money for less display.

For this display to have such a ridiculously cramped vertical resolution is mind boggling. WTF, NEC?
