Hunnh... Previous WiFi SD cards could not transmit raw files? Anyone know why not? It sure seems to me that the card wouldn't care what kind of data it transmits...

Don't know why, but they didn't. That is what kept me from purchasing in the past. Now, if I can beam RAW files directly from camera to Aperture, I'm in!

This is fine for the favoured ones in the US, but frustrating for excluded would-be purchasers in Europe. C'mon Eye-fi - get your European act together!

Wow, finally ad-hoc support. Now we can upload without an internet or router connection. Cool.

I was looking at the predecessor to this recently and noticed the lack of raw transfer and ad hoc networks were the two biggest complaints (and they were major for me). Now I have to reassess with this new model.

I'm guessing they didn't do raw before because primarily they expected it to be a tool to upload images to a sharing site. Offloading to your own machine perhaps just came along for the ride originally.

OK now the 64,000 question....
Can the Eye-Fi use the internet connection from a iPhone 3g S if a hotspot is not available. If so, this is a outta-the-park home run!
