Check to see what he's been allowed to see, and what he isn't.
Anything not allowed with be greyed out and non selectable whilst in his account window.
Also, I suggest you upgrade to .1.5 and the various security/other updates.

--Clean install of OS 9.2
--gone to Extensions Manager -- the only way Classic will start in all 3 logins is with ALL extensions off ( and I need QuickTime's on for my son's CD-ROM's)
Any more ideas? Thanks!

Well, I'm sort of serious. images/icons/shocked.gif
Ok, I'm not exactly sure what's going on here, but I'll need for you to give me some answers to the following questions:
1) what size of HD is in the iMac?
2) how much has been used by OS9 and apps?
3) how much has been used by X and iApps?
4) alternatively, how much is left in total?
5) can you backup all your files/emails/etc to .mac account (probably slow if you're on dialup rather than broadband/adsl) or to cd?
6) what model is the iMac?
7) and have you added any extra ram yourself?
8) finally, do you have any external devices connected to the iMac? If so, unplug and see if problem persists.
Once I've got these, I'll walk you thru a complete install of X and 9 and partitioning the HD.
In the meantime, if there's something I can't think of right now that's causing the problem, I'll let you know.
