How can I transfer 8500 files from my old Performa 6300CD (which does not have an Ethernet port)to my new iMac flat panel. I do have a SCSI Zip drive and a SCSI external hard drive, but the iMac doesn't have a SCSI port.

I've used a USB to SCSI 25-Pin Converter (PGSCSI) from a company called Xircom (http://www.xircom.com) with no problems. I paid around $60. for it about 18 months ago.

With the corresponding software, this will allow you to connect either the external SCSI HD or the external SCSI Zip drive to a USB port on your iMac. I have done it both ways and prefer the HD over the Zip. images/icons/smile.gif

Before buying a USB-to-SCSI adapter to connect a SCSI-interface ZIP drive to an iMac, keep in mind that a brand-new USB-interface ZIP drive can be purchased for under $80.
