Noticed items that I've read no longer show as dimmed.

Good catch. We'll get on that.

Hi--I've already noticed that:

1. Dates and times are not formatted properly on the page that lists the articles in Safari 4.x on the Mac
2. I can't get to the Olympus E-600 DSLR review

FYI. Thanks.

I welcome to efforts to improve macworld.com, thanks so much!. Unfortunately, the features that I'd like to print for reading later, off-line, are still printer unfriendly. The Print button at the end of stories shows a preview with lots os wasted space.

1. Can you be more specific? which page? How are they formatted improperly?

2. I clicked on the link on the home page and it took me to the new product capsule, including the review. What happened when you tried?

The broken print styling is actually a known bug we will hopefully be addressing shortly.

I appreciate that a lot of time and effort has gone into the new look but I really don't like it. I wish there was a way to remove all the little photo icons before each title on the News page. Pretty but rather useless. The typeface is larger but so is the spacing between titles and that means slower scanning of the stories that interest me and endless scrolling. I suppose I could subscribe to an RSS feed but I prefer to go to a site rather than it be shoved at me.

There will be others who like it but I think it's a backward step. Sorry!

Edited:

Aha! but I was looking at the news.html page. Reading other posts I realise that I need to change my bookmark to the homepage. I wonder how many others have realised that little point (assuming they prefer lists)?

Hey -guys,
I think the new look is a tad cleaner and know it took some working on to improve the Macworld site. Nice job... :)

Yes, pretty but not helpful for me to find articles I might want to read. The labels saying what category the article is in (iPhone, etc.) are gone, too. Those were minimally useful, since they all looked the same, with small text inside a box. I yearn for the day when you use color coding to categorize them -- one background color for iPhone, another for cameras, etc. -- same categories as before but with colors.

I am in the habit of printing and saving PDF versions of articles for later reference. As of the new web design, hitting File>Print, or the Print box at the end of the article, produces a document much longer than the article selected, with additional wasted pages of small icons and material from the article's window. How do we now print JUST the article?

BruceB,

This is a known bug and should be fixed soon.

@snowcreative:

Try the home page instead of news.html. No images there.

We've talked about color coding, but I think it would make the page look like someone threw up a rainbow.

I'm really liking the new look of Macworld. It's a site I go to often and I have been a longtime subscriber of the magazine. Now that you are improving the look and feel of the website, I'm hoping they will improve the subscription to the magazine section. I always find it hard to find my account info there. It's like it's a forgotten section of the website.

Thanks for a wonderful magazine and website.

Josue
