Sorry about this, i've searched on the subject, found 6 posts but still i can't work out how to recieve mail from my Hotmail Account.
I have a hotmail account already
I'm using Entoutrage X (with the 10.1.2 update)
On 10.2.2.
It seems the first step is to get my hotmail account into my e-mail accounts list. How is this done?

Sorry for the simple question. Could someone hold my hand and walk me through ever so gently?

Thanks in advance images/icons/smile.gif

Launch Entourage.

Select Accounts from the Tools menu.

Click the "New" button.

Enter name (it will use this name in the From part of mail you send, e.g. "Boy Brown"). Click right arrow.

Enter Hotmail eMail address, E.g. boybrown@hotmail.com. Click right arrow.

Enter sign-in name (E.g., boybrown. Same names as above.) Enter Hotmail password. Click the checkbox, or not, your choice. Click right arrow.
Give the account a name (it'll show up with his name in your Inbox list, the Schedule dialog Account pull-down, and the Send & Receive sub-menu under Tools, but otherwise doesn't matter, so it's your choice. Check the box or not, your choice. Click right arrow.

The new account will show up in Entourage's mailbox pane with a cute little butterfly iconette.

Connect to internet however you do it.

Click on it, or pick the account from the "Send & Receive" sub-menu to Tools, and it should add a little triangle next to the mailbox, read your list of folders from Hotmail, and pull the content of your Inbox.

Question... I had hotmail set up on my entourage account then I reinstalled my OS X because I wanted to set up my mac with a partition for safety just incase for one reason or another the operating system goes bad and I had to reinstall it I would not have to find a way to backup my data on an external drive. Well after I reinstalled everything I attepmted to have my entourage access my hotmail account... nothing. It says that HTTP error and the server could not fulfill the request. I have tried just about everything and I can't get entourage and hotmail to conect. Is there anything that I can do to get it to work?

When you re-installed OS X, I presume you re-installed Office v.X? Did you update to the latest Office 10.1.2 Combined Updater (or at least to the Office SR-1 update?) The Entourage v.X as shipped on the Office v.X CD doesn't work with teh current Hotmail (due to changes made in Hotmail at almost the same time the program was released.) The necessary fixes were included in a Hotmail update, then rolled into SR-1, and now the Combined Updater. The HTTP error message you descrive was a common symptom of running the old Entourage with the new Hotmail.
