play wmv files? got QT, iMovie, no luck

I'm in OSX, trying to view downloaded music videos (I think made with Windows movie or something). I cannot find any software that opens files with a .wmv filename extension. I've tried Quicktime 6, Real player 8, and iMovie. No luck. And no Apple site I've found discusses filename extensions or the required software or drivers, especially not for wmv. Know anything about this?
