I recently got my new dual 1.25 G4. I have worked several days on it trying to transfer everything from my old 867 G4. I partitioned the drive and installed OS X. Then updated to 10.2.4. After eveything is back up to date on my computer, now quicktime "unexpectedly quits" everytime I try to open it. Someone please help. I am a video editor and I use quicktime a lot. Thanks for any help. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

After all those installs, I would repair permissions using Disk Utility. It that doesn't solve it, I would run Noton Disk doctor or Diskwarrior if you have either, to repair any little problems that might be bugging you.

Thanks for the quick response. I have repaired permissions. And I dont have Norton or diskwarrior. I just dont want to have to re-install everything. Any other ideas?

Everyone should have a copy of Norton Utilities(Systemworks) or Diskwarrior for routine maintenance. It will save you many times. you may need something that boots into OSx, though, which none of these do yet. If you have partitions, you can install them on each one to repair the other, since the HD has to unmount.

Alsoft's diskwarrior

Delete the Quicktime preferences (located in your users folder: Library > Preferences > com.apple.QuickTime Player.plist).

Deleted all of the quicktime preferences...stills quits. I'm having to use quicktime in classic mode right now. It sucks.
