I have a modem on my desktop, which is running on XP, and Interhet Connection sharing is on. I have a Linksys Wifi AP set up and I link my iBook (16VRAM 12" 700 mHz) to the XP PC for browsing the Net & email, etc. No problem there. My question now is: Is there any way I can disconnect from the Net using the iBook? If I use my XP laptop to link to the PC, there appears a little icon on the taskbar representing the modem, and I can remotely log off from the net by clicking on 'disconnect'. There is no such icon on the iBook. Basically, i would like to use the iBook to disconnect from the Net without having to go to the PC and disconnecting from there. I don't know if anyone understands what the hell I am talking about! /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

The only way I can see is if you can take control of the PC from your iBook via timbuktu or something like that.

What Remote Access does in OS 9?
The answer should lie in the program you use to connect from the iBook. Or startup in OS 9... /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Install VNC on the PC and some sort of VNC viewer on the mac there are many to choose from, some even on apples site for free. I use VNC thing for OS X to login to work PC's all the time and it works well.
