There are some great deals on the 700 ibook from last year. Has anyone seen or experienced the difference in video cards and vram? QE is supported in the 700 right?
thanks

I upgraded my iBook 700/20G/16MBVRAM to 800/30G/32VRAM. I didn't noticed much improvement in video performance. Extra HD space was useful and the Sony Combo drive used in the iBook 800 is an improvement. I did notice a big improvement going from iBook 600/8MB VRAM to iBook 700/16MBVRAM though.

Parrot, did you go from a 600 to a 700 to an 800 iBook?

Hi Ti_Guy. Yep I did. I managed to sell my old iBook's on ebay for a good price so the upgrade wasn't that costly.

My iBook 700 (May 2002 model) with the 16mb vram is great for everything including games and even working with Maya. I wouldn't sell it to upgrade to the 800. I think you'll be happy saving your bucks (for extra goodies) and buying the 700.

I agree with serpico. Unless you need the extra HD size, go for the iBook 700 if you can get a good price.
