Hi all. I just 'inherited" a stripped 8100/80 (no hard drive or CD-Rom, just a floppy drive), but it has a fast SCSI card, a T-Base 10/100 card and 270 Meg of Ram on board. I tested it with an external boot drive, and it works.....however my old SCSI drive has since died.
I'd like to use it as a file server as well as connect my old scsi scanner to it, so I would like your opinions on an affordable replacement internal drive for this machine (SCSI), as well as your recommendation on a processor upgrade card (if it's worth the cost). Also any info on how to boot from a floppy drive (what system/software do I need?).
Thanks,
Jim

Other World Computing shows a Sonnet upgrade that takes it to a 500 MHz G3. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I cannot find the used SCSI drives I recently saw at ridiculously low prices, but you may prefer new? OWC's links from the above page are for 8100 compatible drives and memory.
