I was hoping someone would be able to help me out and answer a question.
Does anyone know when the iMac 17in with the 1Ghz processor is going to be dropping in price? Right now I can't find it for cheaper then $1794 and I was hoping on being able to get it for less and was wondering when or if the price was going to go down any time soon.
Well if you can let me know that would be great.
Thanxxx

The Apple store has a refurbished model for $1599.00 -- same warranty & software as new. Otherwise you'll have to wait for the next revision -- Probably later this year.

Aloha,
No one can know for sure. Given the imac was just updated in Feb., it's unlikely we'll see another update before July, perhaps longer. However, that doesn't mean a price drop couldn't happen.
Keep in mind, this is pure speculation. Think Secret, a rumor site with a decent track record, is reporting that the eMacs will be updated very soon. They say they'll be a low end G4 800mhz CDROM model to replace the G3 iMac in the $800 range. The $999 combo drive and $1299 Super Drive will keep the same price but go 1ghz.
If that's true, and it may very will be off, but that would make the FP iMacs look over-priced, hence bringing about a price drop.

When I bought my 800MHz 17" iMac in September, it was $1,995. They've boosted it to 1GHz and dropped the price $200. since then; what makes you think they'll reduce again?
