The earphones included with the iPod suck. Suck. Not so much in terms of sound quality, but just in terms of ergonomics. They don't fit well into your ears and they have the wires divided equally in two, instead of having one longer wire that goes behind your head, and this makes them get in the way more and more likely to fall out. Also, what is the deal with the incredibly long cord when you use the remote with the included earphones? Weird.
I use a pair of Sony MDR-D66 headphones (not sure if these are available outside of Japan or not) and I'm very satisfied. They are comfortable to wear (although it can be tiring for very long periods) and they fold up into a smaller ball-like shape so you can store them in yuor bag more easily than most full-sized headphones.

Back on track.
Other than the lame ear-buds and the cool chrome finish that lifts
fingerprints frastr than any CSI unit, I find the new iPod to be
outstanding.
I went to the Apple store Friday night to check out the party and
snake a free poster. The next thing I know, I'm heading out the door
with a new iPod, poster and free t-shirt.

I still use the white earbuds that came with my original ipod. Whilst they certainly don't have the best sound quality, they're a lot better than a lot of the rubbish you generally get with walkmans. On top of that, there is so much kudos attached to those white earbuds. As you walk through the street, stand on the underground etc, everyone knows that you are the coolest /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I've also known other white-earbudded guys give me the nod in a 'hey, ipod user /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif' kinda fashion /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif You just can't beat their style.

Can anyone tell me if "To Do Items" from iCal are syncronized with the new 2.0 software? Also if so can some one post pics of it? or direct somewhere that has some.
Thanks,

P.S. Are there any changes to the Calendars in the iPod?

I got the 30gig on Friday morning and absolutely love it. The sheer quality of the thing is amazing relative to any other personal music device in existance. I still keep thinking of other small interface improvements which would make navigation easier. Maybe these have been said before, but I might as well list them again if anyone from Apple is listening...
1) make it easier to turn shuffle on and off- like a quick key combo from the Now Playing screen without having to go back through the menus. Or at least add it to the list of customizable main menus.
2) Add an option where if you are listening to All Songs shuffle and you hear a song that you like, you can just change it to shuffle that particular artist/album with minimal button presses.
3) make it eaiser to get to the Now Playing screen without "Menu"-ing all the way up the main menu, scrolling down, and selecting the now playing option.
Any one else have suggstions?

While a 'now playing' button would be cool, it would ruin the ultra simplistic approach that makes the iPod such a UI masterpiece. When I have my iPod (someone who's never seen one before, god forbid), they know how to use it within 15 seconds. It's amazing. I don't even have to say anything other than 'use the scroll wheel, select with the center button, menu to go back'.

Shure E2c headphones--just received them.
I can't believe how HORRIBLE these things sound, and how much my $15 Sennheisers just kick the crap out of them.
1. The way these things fit in your ear is totally awkward. They gave me an assortment of "ear sleeves," and none of them fit right. They fall out of my ears really easily, and to get a halfway (but not really) decent sound out of them, I've got to adjust the hell out of them until they're in my ears just right, and even then, they move around and I have to adjust them again anyway.
2. NO BASS RESPONSE -- AT ALL!! I mean, none!!
These things are awful, and I can't believe how much better my cheapy Sennheisers sound. I'm returning them ASAP.
