I am a student at Virginia Tech and have done a lot of web design in HTML but only a bit of FLASH. I would like to learn how to make a site such as this one...
http://www.codedc.com/
What is needed to make a site such as this? Do I need to know any special code for FLASH or can I just make it with Flash? Is there a book that can tell me more about this or a website? Thanks...

It looks like they might have used Swift 3D to create some of the 3D effects, but other than that it appears to be a "simple" Flash build (simple meaning probably not special code or advanced scripts). If you break down the site it uses a template throughout (the moving elements/design lines, nav bar, etc.) with the links being movie elements displayed over it. It's presented nicely, it looks big and impressive... although I am surprised they don't have a music selector to change the beats - seeing as it's a club site.
If you are learning Flash and get stuck Macromedia has forums for all their products.
As for a book, I would browse your local bookstore, since there are SO many Flash books. When I was learning Flash I got a book from a book club and it sucked (but it was cheap),it seemed to do little more than repeat what was in the manual. Look before you buy.
