MP ZIF Upgrades

Anyone know where I can find the XLR8 Mach Velocity or another MP ZIF upgrade (if there are any) for a decent (cheap) price? I saw someone on the xlr8yourmac forums who was asking about them and it seemed like he was thinking of getting one. You can't register anymore at xlr8yourmac, perhaps someone who is registered can ask him?

Here's the new home for XLR8 products - the only source I know:

cheap,...well, not really. They also sell the cards on ebay.

I think Sonnet should consider developing MP ZIF upgrades. It was a good idea and xlr8 had a lot of the driver stuff worked out pretty good in OS 9. Does anyone know how do get it working it Jaguar? Also, does anyone have he who stacks pork's email? I want to ask him a few questions.

If you take a look at our current design, you'll see a significant amount of cooling activity is already in place. We try never to say never, but an MP product with these faster G4s will be a trick, especially at 1GHz or beyond. Assuming we could chill the slower chips enough, would a dual 800MHz have a market if, say, a single 1.2GHz or 1.4GHz (or ???) was the same price?
That's the kind of thing we have to look at when we're selecting "what do do next."

Well a dual 733/800/867/etc would be defiantly better than a single 1.0, 1.2, or 1.4 in SMP aware apps. I've been wondering this for years as to why XLR8 was the only ones ever able to make a dualie. Now granted they were not the greatest masterpieces, but they were interesting feats, no doubt there.
But I agree with the Karl dude. Cooling looks already rabid on their new G4 ZIF (Hey Karl, you think Sonnet would sell the heatsinks standalone? I'd love to get one of them just cause this stock heatsink is a joke /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif). But then theres also the fact that another CPU will require more power. Im guessing Sonnet went with a lower power consuming G4, but im not sure...anyone know the exact number of the processor (7457/etc)?
Now even if the current design is a less power consuming G4 on the ZIF, gotta think about what would happen with 2 added. Then add into account the fans on the heatsink (or whatever extra cooling measures would be neededPCI slots drawing powerdrives drawing power...then the powersupply is not that massive in the those old machines.
But yeah, if you can do it. Will there be a market for a dualie ZIF. Well, I know i'd probably buy it. My perception of Sonnet is changing but im still not quite over the auto configure issue (wish that was optional). But if Sonnet was the only one making it, yeah, I think I would buy it. Mostly cause I believe in getting the most from my comps, max it out till it will go no more /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.
Heck, most would rather buy a new machine than stick with an old one longer (gimmie $2k and I would too /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif). The only benefits in a dualie i'd see are from SMP aware apps (games/photoshop/etc). Now a lot of apps I use have SMP capability so I would see use there. Then the only other major hinderance for these old machines besides the ageing hardware is...the worthless graphics card offerings for the PCI macs (Radeon 7000, pffft, come on ATI, you can do better than that...oh thats right, its ATI, not 3Dfx..so they can't do better than that).
