Okay, I did something really dumb. I upgraded a slot-load iMac to Jaguar w/o updating the firmware. So now i have a completely blank screen!!
I've since updated the firmware, but I still have a blank screen. I can hook up the iMac to an external monitor w/o a problem, but any suggestion on how I can get the built-in screen working again??
Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion... however, apparently 4 was the magic number. Four zaps of the PRAM that is. After I updated the firmware I had zapped the PRAM 2-3 times w/no luck, but out of deparation I let it go for 4 times and then suddenly the screen came up!
Whew!

The reason why the fourth was the charm is that is around when instead of you zapping your pram, you actually zap your nvram. You can do this manually by holding option apple O F.
At the prompt
type: reset-nvram (return)
then type: reset-all (return)
At that point everything is wiped out of your memory. This is the first thing I do when showing up to a consult once I've determined the problem.
