... and threw me right into the fire.
My company decided to lay off the support person at a site we deal with. He was just getting them set up with an XServe before he got the ax. They then moved me over to act as his replacement, and, well, you could say that I'm not exactly an XServe expert.
In fact, I'd never even seen one before coming over here, and haven't dealt extensively with MacOS since about version 7. Not only was that a bit different from OSX Server /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif but it was a looong time ago, and I've forgotten just about everything.
What I know:
NT /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Very basic *nix stuff - I'm comforatble with a cli/terminal window and using an admin station to do things on the server with a shell interface.
They want to use the XServe, at least to start, to replace their old G3 server and At Ease system they've got going here for all the iMac stations.
What I'm looking for:
Online references, books, whatever. Material to help me learn how to admin this thing.
Reccommendations from people familiar with XServe on what/where to start.
Anything else that the people here, who know inifinitly more than I do about this thing, can think of that I should know/am missing.
Thanks /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You've probably found the Apple listing and have the guide.
If you can't get your company to send you to a class then here are the books listed on Amazon:
Real World Mac OS X Server by John Welch from Peachpit Press (Oct 2003)
Mac OS X Web Server Handbook by David Hart from Prentice Hall (2001)
Mac OS X Server Administrator's Guide by Andrew Russel & John Welch from Premier Press (2000)
Sorry I can't give you experience, hopefully, others will respond.
