I second Chuckie's opinion.
Unimpressed with Jaguar

I run Jaguar off of an external 60 GB Firewire drive connected to a Pismo 500 (G3) w/ 640 MB RAM. Let me just say that Jaguar is without a doubt faster than 10.1.4. System Preferences opens in less than ONE bounce (3-4 in 10.1.4). File browsing, opening windows, EVERYTHING feels faster and I can't even take advantage of QE! This is going to be one AWESOME upgrade. images/icons/smile.gif

Even a developer release will have significant debugging code in it, so that slows down any process. When I was at Apple, we could easily see 20% increase in speed just from the final client build (with debugging) and the release (with debugging turned off).

Hi
mrjinglesusaIf I did understand it correctly you do take advantage of QE. Anyone with a supported GPU from 10.1.4 will (Rage128 or greater) but the 32MB RADEON or GeForce2 MX will get the optimal performance from QE. Which makes me hope that the lawsuit (even though it was unnecessary) got Apple to add Rage Pro drivers to 10.2 so my PowerBook (Lombard) can at least use QE a little.
