No, it's not ready quite yet, but I thought you guys might want to know that Intuit has just put up a signup form for users who want to be notified as soon as the service is available. Conversion Service Notification Page
They still haven't said exactly what form the service will take, nor what it will cost, although there has been much speculation here.
Just to clarify that - the FAQ states: Our current expectation is that it will be available by March 31, 2003. Pricing has not yet been determined. However, we expect that it will be under $200.
Let's hope it's waaay under. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

On the 12th of last month I sent a letter to the CEO of Intuit Steve Bennet and thanked him and Intuit for at least releaseing a Mac version of QuickBooks. However I did voice my companys concerns over lack of features and there proposed Mac conversion service.
Well guess what? I got a call from Steve's secretary ( it would be wishfull thinking to hope for a call from the "Big Kauna") But hey, I did get a call back.
Well she informed me that the company took my letter seriously and they were forwarding it to the Mac Dept. ASAP. So for what its worth the "Big Cheese" at Intuit is aware of us Mac users. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If this conversion service isn't free it's too much. Of course, like a sheep I'll buy it... QuickBooks might not get it, but it seems like somebody does. Check this out...

I just received my Mac version on QB5 and it seems to be ok, but when I called to Register, I mentioned the concerns I had about my Accountant not being able to read my files. The Rep responded that anyone using Windows QB 2002/2003 will be able to read my Mac files, but that the conversion is one way. Mac to Windows.
The accountant wouldn't be able to modify the files, then give them back to me.
I haven't tested or tried this since I don't have a previous 2002/2003 version on Windows to test it out.
One thing that I also found annoying is not being able to directly email an invoice.
Although I do have the option to save as PDF, then could manually attach and
email, it's a simple thing to do and should be part of the system.
My use of QB is fairly basic, but after seeing a link to MYOB in the forums somewhere, and going through the demo, the product seems much more feature packed (for the Mac) than QB and for the price of $99, would more than fit the needs of smaller businesses like myself.
I wonder if Intuit/QB has a return/satisfaction policy?

This has been answered elsewhere in this forum, but is easily found in the FAQ on Intuit's website. We guarantee your satisfaction 100% or your money back. If you are unhappy with any QuickBooks product for any reason, return it within 60 days for a full refund of your purchase price. ... assuming your ebay purchase is a legitimate license.
There are some user comparisons in this forum, you might find them more informative than the speculations of folks not using either software package. Check out the thread entitled "MYOB vs. QB 4/5" to start; searching on those terms would yield you even more views.

Somewhere in this forum, someone posted that one of MYOBs products has cross-platform compatible files, and gives free cross-platform applications to the clients accountant.
Unless MYOB has some major shortcoming (does it ????), it is a no-brainer for Mac users.
