HI,

I was trying to update my 10.1 to 10.1.1 but, obviously I'missing something here.
I downloaded the installer fvrom Apple and started it, everything goes fine to the point where you have to choose the volume. I see two volumes there: my HD with 10.1 installed and the image file with the update installer, BUT they are both greyish and I can't choose any.
No error message, nothing. I always have to quit at that point.

I thought of starting the mac from CD but I don't know how. Everytime I start from the 10.1 install CD it brings up the installer and not the desktop. images/icons/confused.gif

Help!!!
Thanx
M.

Did you try using software update via system preferences? That has always worked for me.

Have you installed the "Security" update and the "Installer" update? These must be installed before updating from OS 10.1.

That did the trick.
I installed the security update with "software update" and was then able to install the installer update. Before, I had the same error as with the system update.

After insatlling the installer update I could install the system update.

Kinda complicated but it worked!
Thanx
