For the past few days I've been working on my parents 400 mhz G4. Yetsreday, IE quit running, It seems to load, yet when the progress bar is almost at 100% it locks-up and an error box appears with no words inside. At this point I have to force quit.
Before this happened I had thrown away a bunch of mp3's to free up some hd space and installed Adobe Type Manager, after which I ran Speed Disk. IE didn't start acting-up immediately, I'm just giving that info as a point of reference.
I have since thrown out the current version of IE and installed it over again to the same results. Any ideas?
Also, the same thing happens when I run Netscape.

I am assuming you are not in OSX, which I believe is only compatibile with ATM Lite. You may be experiencing some font conflicts. Go to ATM or Adobe Type Reunion (ATR) (I don't remember which) and see if there is a place where you can tell it not to use ATM/ATR with the IE application. You may have to do this with other applications that crash.

Also, did you run Disk Doctor before speed disk? you should have. You don't want to optimize a disk that had errors. If you didn't, do it now.
