Grant, get on the stick, dude. Analog connections are for amateurs. My update installer downloaded in minutes.

BTW it takes less time to download the 10.1.5 update over 56K than it does to watch most movies... images/icons/cool.gif

I have 10.2, and it takes 4 seconds it mount, plus 2 seconds to open it from when I double-click the icon, and 1 second to open the Documents folder, which is empty. It took 3 seconds to open the Music folder, which had a 2.1MB wmp file.
I want to compare it, and see if there is a big difference or not.

Ah, Duchess, would that I could. I had cable in Vegas, but "over the hump in Pahrump" is another thing altogether. No cable, no DSL, only satellite and it isn't Mac-capable yet. They're working on it and I'm on a mailing list, but so far nada. The problem has to do with how Macs handle USB compared to PCs. They hinted it could be as early as "sometime in June" though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. DirecTV has a really good install/setup deal running right now that expires on the 15th. I'm hoping they'll extend it for us Mac users.
Back OT, nothing else to report on 10.1.5 except it, well, just runs. Everything is great. Have noted NO speedups in IE, however.

Just before 10.1.5 came out, I had given up. simply too much didn't work, and what worked was just too slow. I decided to go back to OS9, and use OSX one I could afford a newer machine.
Well, hallelujah! The .5 update improved things so much it's (almost) like having a new machine!
Everything moves faster -- logging in, application startup, etc. My Que USB CDR is finally recognized by the OS and iTunes. iPhoto is usable. I can output from iMovie to my camcorder without skips in the movie.
I still have to go to OS9 to play any games requiring 3d acceleration (drivers for my Voodoo2 GameWizard card are unlikely), but I can live with that.
Thank you, Apple, for finally including Rage Pro support. (I knew signing that online petition was the right thing to do.) images/icons/wink.gif
