Don't know if anyone posted about it yet, but I've found a new and exciting thingy after installing .5 update.

From now on, when you press Eject button on your keyboard...eject symbol shows up on the screen in the same manner are volume control would. Kewl! images/icons/wink.gif

FINALLY! Now life is complete. Just kidding. images/icons/smile.gif Thanks for the observation. One thing regarding the Eject button however, is that it now doesn't also open my external FireWire burner. It did in the past. Sometimes it was annoying but sometimes it was just what I wanted.

Guess it's a feature ... not a bug!

Hi
I found that feature to be much more annoying than helpful. I have a ZipCD 650 hooked to a hub and it was annoying when it always ejected with the internal DVD-ROM. Especially since I usually had stuff on the desk (and in the way of it). But everyone has different opinions.

Hmm... iDisk is actually usuable for me now. No freezes. Goliath is still faster though. Getting better though.
Bellu, are you still having problems?

I have encountered my first problem in .5. When I tried to go into command line mode last night, I couldn't. Despite holding down the 'S' key, OS X loads. My impetus for needing to go into command line mode was that Starcraft (Carbon) would not load after the update to .5. I would appreciate other people trying to fsck -y and letting me know if they get pass step one.

If I hold down the Apple + S key while rebooting I get into single user mode and then can run fsck -y

Hi
Mac Duchess I am able to use single mode, fsck -y, but not StarCraft (Demo, I think). It gives me a "FATAL ERROR: There was an error loading the file Local." Than I click OK and it says the application has unexpectedly quit. Very Interesting. But not a big deal, I kind of stop playing it after awhile. Don't you just love problems? images/icons/grin.gif I've only had one mainly annoying problem I'm still working on. blank>Screensaver not working (with AIM?) Good Luck!!!

Hi
I downloaded Mac 10.1.5 on my G4 powerbook and now I am having trouble staying connected via Airport. Has anyone else had simular problems. I can connect via hard wired ethernet and connect just fine. When I change back to airport it will work for a short time then I can not see the network.
Thanks
Del

Here is an update to my eairler post. I tried a suggestion from Guy Coombes from Germany and it seems to be working for me. I went to the Network Control Panel and turned off all network connection except Airport and have been on line for a few hours and not lost connection so far. I even made my computet sleep for a few minutes and it came right back. I may not have let it sleep long enough to lose network connection.
Thanks again to Guy for his suggestion.

Yo,

Someone way up asked about which cards are supported as "Rage Pro." I have the Powerbook G4 with the original Rage Mobility graphics, and a few applications seem to scroll smoother now -- i was just wondering if this was due to this fix, or if it was something else.

Also, i don't know if this will go away, but I've restarted twice after 10.1.5 and the system hangs forever on "Configuring network time server" or whatever.

So far I have had no problems airport still works fine and sleep from apple menu works, dont know may be a little faster but I think that is because of optimize plus placibo effect.

Paul

P.S.

I have an Ibook 500 640M ram

Thanks, Cheetah. The problem you described is exactly what happens when I try to run Starcraft (Carbon). It goes straight from the startup screen to 'unexpectedly quit.' On the bright side, maybe this is the key to breaking my Starcraft addiction. images/icons/smile.gif!

if people don't have my exact system then they can't say if it is good or not 10.1.5 and sleep etc. you have to have exact system. so saying it works is not really saying anything. apple screwed up in 10.1.5 and my mac config. sleep does not work. so im calling apple and going to bitch at them big time and i will offer feedback on their os x page. they f'ed up.
