From MacFixit......

Starcraft conflict We have two reports of a conflict between Starcraft and Mac OS X 10.1.5. David Empson notes: "Since installing Mac OS X 10.1.5, the Carbon version of Starcraft 1.0.9 has stopped working. It now unexpectedly quits during startup after checking that the CD is present, about the point it would display the title screen)." Anthony Lassiter confirms.

Update: Todd Womble informs us: "Blizzard has posted a fix for the StarCraft issues with Mac OS X 10.1.5. Basically you must click the 'Don't show again' selection in the startup options dialog box. It will crash again. Restart and the problem disappears."

The 10.1.5 sleep issue started by buggs1a is continuing in blank>this tread.

Thanks, Peter! It is good to know that my perception of the situation was correct. Kind of funny that I am only the third person known to have stumbled on this lil' peccadillo. Proves I am a Starcraft addict, huh? images/icons/smile.gif!

I discovered last night that my Epson C80 has stopped working in OS X. All I get is 'unsupported printer' in Print Center. (This is definitely a supported printer.) Trying to reload the software fails. I am becoming a little . . . annoyed.

Problem solved!

According to Apple technical services, the culprit is Canon's print drivers. They interfere with any addition of 'competing' drivers to the Print Center. The solution is to remove the Canon software. Here is the Knowledge Base how-to document:

You are welcome. I wish more people were aware of this solution. According to Sea, there is now a rush to sell off Epson C80 printers on eBay. A phone call to Apple or Epson could save them the hassle and allow them to keep an excellent printer.

As a few others have mentioned in this thread, my system seems faster and more responsive overall.

IE 5.1.4 seems noticeably faster with page downloads of large sites. I thought perhaps our cable service has improved, but perhaps it is more due to 10.1.5? Could it be?

Any other notice overall system/browser improvements? I don't think I'm imagining things either ...

Another note regarding possible FTP improvements since installing/upgrading to OS X (10.1.5).

Prior to upgrading, I was having very poor FTP connections while using Adobe GoLive 6 (for OS X).

Since upgrading, my FTP connections with remote servers has seemed to be much more stable, and wouldn't disconnect or 'hang up' during uploading/transferring of files from my computer to the remote host server.

I can't verify that this is due to the upgrade, but can someone more qualified than myself in these matters offer some thoughts on whether this could be due to the improved stability of the new system software?
