When contacts hit the reply button to respond to emails from me, their reply goes to an address that appears on the email they get from me, but that address is not my email address. As a result, their reply is undeliverable. Does anybody know what gives, and how I can correct this? Thanks from an old guy with a new computer.

Mail Address?

Have you checked over your account settings in the Mail app? (I am just guessing that you use the OS X Mail app--you might be using Entourage or Eudora.) Go into your email account settings and make certain that the "reply to" address is actually your email address. It just might have been set up incorrectly the first time.
One other thing you might do is try getting someone besides that contact to try replying to one of your emails, just to make sure the mistake isn't on their end.

Just send yourself an email. Then you can quickly see what return address comes up. You've probably just got it set wrong in your settings. If you're using Mail, just check in the Accounts Preferences that you have the right email address listed for Email Address.

Thanks for the fast, helpful advice. Yes, I am using the OS X Mail app, and I'm trying to decide whether to pay $50 to extend it for a year. More than one of my contacts encountered this problem. Your suggestions spurred me to experiment to come up with what I hope is a solution - at least it worked in emails to myself. Although the email address in Account Settings was correct, I had entered my wife and daugher's name as well as my own in the Personal block: eg, George, Georgette, and Georgina Smith. I think that confused the program. When I changed that item to just my first name, the From line on the email I sent to myself was clear.
