Mail 1.2 is corrupted

it wont launch at all. I'm hoping that when I reinstall, my old mail files will still be there.
Do I have to reinstall from the osx disks I got with my computer? (I'm away from home and dont have access to them.)
cant seem to find the download on the apple site.

If you recently updated Mail (or any application), and you are running into issues with it not launching or operating strangely, it's a good idea to run the "Repair Disk Permissions" from the Disk Utility.
Worth a try before reinstalling.
