Third party DVD player

Are there any third party DVD player software, since Apple's DVD player is very unusable versus the PC ones, like Powed DVD wich I used until switched to mac.

Try VideoLAN client. Haven't tried it out myself because I'm not aware of any shortcomings of Apple's offering can you enlighten us what they are?
