Hello
What do you want from Panther?
I would like:
-The log in bug fixed!
-User Switching
-A key combo for login (like windows, it copied Mac OS enough times)
-Speed Lots of it
-More standards for "sheets" remember the way all messages
boxes would be attached to windows, at least in Apple software
-Window arrangement so that I can have two windows side by side of equal size or above/below (again like Window arrangement feature)
-Option-click Zoom button to fill screen, not just zoom, I like things like browser windows to be full screen
-Cross platform iChat with video/audio free wokring with AOL/AIM
that all for the moment
anything else?

What's the login bug? If it's the one from the recent security update, it is fixed -- just download v 2.0 of the patch.

I would like a Network time function that works reliably with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's time servers. (They are the official keeper of and ultimate authority on the various standards for this country. So, they are the people from whom we should be able to get our time tick. However, if I have Network Time set to get its information from one of their servers rather than Apple's, I can never be sure what my clock will be set to when I start up my computer after it's having been shut down.)

in mail I would like a option to see the attachments as files under a drop down menu. i would also like a way to contro the scroll speed. it would also be neat to see moreplug ins for sherlock, like a mapquest one. I would like A built in skin-a-dock feature, aong with a build in skin a dock featrure how about a built in theme changer. And of course more speed. but for me speed isn't really that much og a problem, I dont understand why people keep complaining. I dont have new hardware either, a g4/450/20GB/256RAM. Thats what i would want from panther. /forums/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

have you tried that site in IE? It's not better. I don't know much about writing code, but theirs is obviouly lacking something. I bet their web designers are to blame for that one...

Move information with a minimized copy box, a procress bar in the dock (like the one you get with toast) and when you mouse over it should show what is being copied and the how much percent of it is done

Hrm!

[*]The ability to run Aqua apps over a network connection, a l X11.
[*]Make a Python framework standard issue.
[*]Extend rm, mv, cp, and other such POSIX tools to deal with HFS metadata (i.e., resource forks) transparently between HFS/HFS+ file systems!
[*]Add codecs that allow preview to display postscript and dvi.
[*]CLI for keychain access where appropriate. In fact, more CLI to OS X services everywhere!
    [*]Better documentation.
    [/list]

A better Finder!
Faster, better management of Folder with thousands of files.
An information box that can be displayed in Icon/List Views that update live when you select a file. A bt like in OS 9. If you had the Info box displayed and selected a different file then the box updated in X it does not. Also more infotmation should be displayd depending on the File type.

This feature was present in OSX prior to 10.2. I particularly remember getting info on a HD, then clicking on another HD and having the info change for it. I don't know why it went away.

Actually, a live updating info box based on currently selected file wasn't present in OS 9. This actually is present in OS X (all versions). To do this in Jaguar, press cmd-opt-i instead of cmd-i. This brings up "the inspector" I think it's called. It'll change info based on what you select.
