hello im about to buy my first mac the g5 dual 2g its a big jump from my amd 1600+. anyway i have a few questions.....
1 what is the ship date all iv seen around was Aug. but is it aug 2 or aug 29th
2. what video adapters come with this thing i read that a dvi to svideo wich i would like to run a htpc outa but does it come with something to hook a crt to the apple port cuz i have a crt monitor and dont have the money right now do have anything other then that
3 what else accessories and connection wise comes with it

I read somewhere Apple was saying the ship date was now going to be on or before Sept 1.
Everything else you asked is answerable on the G5 tech specs page. Scroll down to the bottom where all the details are. The page says it comes with a DVI to VGA adapter so you can hook up a CRT. The only "Apple port" is the ADC port. The DVI port is industry standard like a PC video card.

all i see on there is :
ADC and DVI connectors; DVI to VGA adapter included
what can i do about connecting the crt. are there adc to crt converters out there

im sorry misunderstanding on my part i know i can connect my crt to the dvi port but i al so need to connect the dvi to svideo adapter you can buy
Connect with S-video and RCA (composite) connectors
You can also order a new adapter designed specifically for the power Mac G5, the Apple DVI to Video Adapter. This new connector works only with the DVI port on each of the graphics cards designed for the Power Mac G5. It allows you to preview your wok by connecting to S-video and composite devices like TVs, VCRs and overhead projectors with S-video or RCA (composite) connectors.

so rather then switching the ports all the time i would like to to attach the apple port to a crt
