I have about 800 images in my libary. This morning I downloaded about 30 more. When the transfer was compleate iPhoto saw no photos in the library. The pixs are still there, all of them. I can open them and everthing but not in iPhoto because iPhoto says I have no photos. I try to download more pixs and the dialog box comes up saying that he images are the the wrong type and cannot be recognized. I try to import pixs that are already in the iPhoto library and get the same thing. I had this happen a few months ago too. I ended up moving all the pixs out of the library and reimporting them in iPhoto ( very time consuming). Before that I tried to rebuild the library with no help- no photos found. I have not removed any files from the iPhoto library file. I did try to remove picture folders ( 2000, 2001, etc) to see if any hidden files might be the problem but that also was no help. I have looked at different forums for similar problem but have not found a solution. I have a G4 450DP and have all the latest updates installed and my camera is a Coolpixs 5000. All the pictures are there, right where they are supposed to be, why can't iPhoto see 'em?

OK, I tried Library Manager with no help and I ran Disk First Aid to repair Permisions and that is no help.

Well, you worried me so I just tried mine. We're just back from a 55 picture weekend (Nikon Coolpix 995), so downloaded them into iPhoto on a Cube and an iMac 800 15" FP. No troubles using iPhoto 2.0 on either Mac and I can report that the Wasatch Mountains in Utah are still as lovely as ever. There were already 600 pix on one of the Macs and about 450 on the other, so volume isn't an issue.
Okay, you've repaired permissions from the hard drive, but have you run First Aid from the Jaguar CD and actually repaired the disk? Or have you run any "industrial strength" utility such as Disk Warrior, TechTool Pro, or Norton Utilities? Are all the photos where they're supposed to be, i.e., ~ > Users > username > Pictures > iPhoto Library > 2003 and so on?
