Hi, I've got a weird problem..
I have installed an airport base-station (Airport extreme) and have both a 15" powerbook (no Airport extreme,.. just airport) and also a pc with some sort of wireless stuff.. So I managed to set things up and they both get connected and everything is allright.. EXCEPT: It only works within a range of 8 meters (26 feet) the Tibook and the pc both lose connection when out of the 8 meters.
There hasnt't been set a max distance (unless I'm missing something)
Can anyone help me?
Thanx

Hi,
I am also running a AEBS. Connected are a ibook G3 700 (including normal Airport card, not extreme) with 10.2.6 and several PC running XP. The whole thing is set up with the PCs distributed around the house (brick walls) and they dont lose connection.
1. possibility: What kind of "wireless stuff" do you have? Maybe the wireless adaptors are crap? What kind of walls do you have inbetween the station and the PC?
2. possibility: There is a setting in the Aiport configuration program (you'll find that in the utilities folder in Applications) which limits the range. Go to "All Settings" and it's there somwhere on the third or fourth tab or so. Sorry that I don't know it exactly.
Hope that helped
M.

I've got the same problem as you have. I've tried with a Dr Bott antenna without sucess. I even got my basstation replaced by Apple. But the new one acts the same as the old one, dead after 7 meters. Have you found any solotion?

You guys don't by chance have the setting "Mode" set to "802.11g only", do you?
It's in the "Airport" tab in the "Show all Settings" part of the Airport Admin Utility, located in your utilities folder.
