As much as I've been enjoying my new Airport connection, I have a perplexing issue-- anytime anyone else in my family wants to go online with either my dad's PC or my brother's PC, I have to physically unplug the telephone jack from my base station. Merely turning off Airport in my control strip and even changing my network settings doesn't cut it-- if the base station is still physically connected to the phone line (we have a separate phone line for the Internet), and my siblings and parents try to go online on the PCs, they a modem signal indicating that someone else is already online (even when I've signed off of AOL). Is there any way I can make Airport/AOL think I'm no longer online without having to unplug and replug the base station to the phone line all the way time? Doing so sort of defeats the purpose of going wireless. I'd appreciate any feedback or tips anyone has. I'm running Mac OS 10.1.5 on my iBook, and it's the newest version of AOL for Mac OS X (doesn't have numbers anymore, it just calls itself "AOL for Mac OS X" and it's all cartoon-y and shiny). Thanks a bunch!!
(edited to avoid confusion)
