I am having problems getting AOL to see my FP iMac's modem port in OS X. It works like a peach in OS 9, but in OS X AOL can see the modem but gives me no option to select under port. What gives? Is there any way to make AOL run natively in OS X?

Thanks much

1) Go to System Preferences
2) Select Network
3) See if "Internal Modem" shows up under the "Show" drop-down box. If it doesn't, then click on active ports and make it active by putting a check next to it. If you do see it, then check your configuration to make sure nothing is awry.

America Online provides outstanding telephone technical support, too, so if you can solve it, look for their tech number under "Other Places to Get Help," a section that should be in your America Online help area.

Good luck!

I called AOL tech support and they said OS X and AOL 5.0 have been butting heads for a while now. However, he also said keyword upgrade will take you to a recently released version that is OS X native. This may be old news, but it solved my problems.
