So I got an 80gig HD and installed it on the mac, initialized it and installed OSX.

Didn't want to reinstall all my stuff, so I just copied everything from my other OS X to the new HD OS X

It worked.

But now it won't recognise the Ethernet Card, not entirely, it is grayed out when I go into Network. It only gives me "modem" option

When I try to "ADD" a new one, it wont' give me the option to add another Ethernet.

what gives? help.

specs: 500mhz, 768megs mem, 80gig HD, 30gig HD, cd-rw, etc.

I think that a clean install may be in order. I remember my friend had this problem, and the solution was to reinstall.

How did you copy OS X to the new drive? Did you simply drag the old HD onto the new one, making a copy? Or did you use one of those special apps which clones OS X onto another drive? The problem may be that something wasn't copied correctly.

That's what me thinks.
