Help! My precious iPod is ruined!
Its beauty is ruined thanks to two very notable scratches across its screen!
I dont know how it happened, but it happened!
It isnt even a week old and its ruined!
Does anybody have experience with this?
Is there a method to remove its scratches?
Id really appreciate if someone helped me with this!
Thanks!

How exactly does that "ruin" your iPod? Live with it.

It may not have been productive, but seriously, I don't know of any way to get scratches off that kind of plastic, and beyond that I think you are just opening yourself up to disappointment if you think two scratches "ruins" your iPod. Unfortunately the iPod scratches very easily, and the only solution I know of is to put it into a case that protects it completely or to just live with the scratches.

Sorry you are having trouble with your iPod. I understand it can be frustrating when something expensive gets damaged.
I have never tried this, so results may vary from "works great" to "does not work at all".
I have a Omega Moon Watch that has a Hesalite Crystal (face). Hesalite it a plastic that will not shatter under extreme compression or decompression. While it's great Hesalite does not shatter like a sapphire crystal it will scratch easily. When I get a scratch that I want to remove from the crystal I use Brasso (available in most stores) and apply with my finger or a very soft towel. Even though Brasso is considered a metal polish it has removed every scratch I have ever had on the watch and makes the crystal look like new (and this is a $2000.00 watch).
I have yet to get a scratch on the face of my iPod, but if an when I do get one I will try Brasso. Has anyone else tried it?
Anyway, it's a product to consider.
Good luck,

Gregg

Just keep in mind that it's very possible to make the scratches worse by trying something that's not been tested on the particular kind of plastic used on the iPod.

Thats why i posted this link...the people have used and tested scratch removal products on their iPods. Its up to the original poster to make his daring decision on what he/she wants to do.

I looked at the link, but unless I am mistaken they are talking about the previous generation of iPods, which may or may not use the same plastic. Just be careful, whatever you decide to do.

I'm afraid my suggestion won't help the original poster too much, but here's a tip those of you looking to prevent scratches on your iPod. Just buy a sheet of one of those clear plastic screen protectors they sell for PDAs (like to cover Palm screens), cut it to the size of the iPod's display, and stick. You can buy those at any computer store. I personally don't care about scratches on the rest of my Pod, but I know it's annoying to have one on the screen. If the protective sheet gets dirty, just replace it with a new one.

Wow, two scratches my violin player is palying you a sad song, honestly the ipOd is rugged, I was ridign my bike did a Superman inadvertantly and landed on my iPosd, and it still works fine. now I'm using an iSkin glow in the dark in conjunction with a PDA screen protector. It's a great combo. hbOwever the otherr problem I have had is that the firewire port flap has broken off, and I have to keep close watch over it.
