I have these two camels out back. Anybody want to trade those for an iPod? I'll even throw in a case of 100 self-sealing stem bolts. Top merchandise!

Seriously, I don't think anyone is going to consider it. Even a 500MHz iBook still goes for almost $600.
PC's have very little resale value. Once you own your own Mac you will appreciate this.

You might have better luck posting this on a PC site. You won't get a trade probably, but you'd likely have better luck selling it. And I guarantee you'd get a lot more money from PC users than from Mac users.

I have a 10 year old 540C, which by the way runs just fine, and I wouldn't trade it for ANY Windows machine. The point you seem to be missing is that nobody in the Mac universe wants to go backward. You, however, should be congratulated for wanting to upgrade your lot

What do your parents say about it? Are they willing to help out?

Well, I have an allowance and some extra money, but it won't come out to enough. I'm looking to get one by September.

Well, good luck Stwain2003. It sounds like a nice PC. If I hear anyone mention they are looking to buy one I'll let them know about yours.
